A small family workshop built around one thing: heavy-glass whiskey decanters worth putting where people can see them.
How it started
Joel Seattle began as a husband and wife with a shared stubbornness about glass. He cut and finished the pieces; she chose which ones were good enough to carry the name. The rule was simple and never changed: a decanter has to earn its place on the shelf, not just hold liquid.
Why we are closing
Our founder, the man behind every decanter, recently passed away. He left behind a life's work made by his hands. Rather than box up the last pieces and put them in storage, we are letting them go to the people who will actually use them — at $39.95 instead of $199.75, with free U.S. shipping, until every last one has found a home. When the shelves are empty, the shop closes.
What we are actually good at
Selection and quality control. Decanters vary enormously in wall thickness, the weight of the base, the fit of the stopper and the quality of the cut, and most of the difference is invisible in a photograph. We buy samples, pour from them, wash them, and drop the ones that feel light, leak at the stopper or ring thin when you set them down. The range is smaller than it could be because of that.
What that means for you, concretely
- Every decanter is $39.95, down from $199.75 — 80% off, and standard tracked shipping is free on every U.S. order, with no minimum and no handling fee. Your total is shown in full before you pay.
- Delivery takes longer than a domestic order. Our pieces are dispatched by a fulfillment partner from a warehouse outside the United States: 1 to 3 business days to process, then 7 to 16 business days in transit. It is on the Shipping page and on every product page, not buried in a policy.
- Every stated measurement is a real measurement — capacity in fluid ounces and milliliters, height in inches and centimeters.
- Every piece is checked by hand and double-boxed in a reinforced carton before it ships. Glass that arrives chipped is replaced or refunded on the strength of a photograph.
- 30 days to change your mind, and no restocking fee, ever.
What we will not tell you
That stock is running out when it is not, that a price is about to rise when it is not, or that a decanter will make a bad whiskey taste good. It will make a good one feel like an occasion, which is the whole point.
